About Damien

Meteorologist Damien Lodes joined AccuWeather in 2024.

Damien is a graduate from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in meteorology and minors in broadcast journalism and political science.

Damien was born in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, and grew up in Oklahoma City. After he graduated from Southeast High School, Damien served as an air traffic controller in the United States Marine Corps for five years.

Growing up in Oklahoma City, Damien saw some of the largest tornado outbreaks in Oklahoma history. The May 3, 1999, F5 tornado that hit Moore, Oklahoma, solidified his passion for meteorology, math and physics.

While at the University of Oklahoma, Damien got his first experience delivering live, on-air forecasts for the University of Oklahoma's student-produced newscast OU Nightly.

As a broadcaster, Damien has covered weather in Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma City.

A self-proclaimed "Batman nerd" and "biggest Denver Broncos fan alive", when Damien isn't hard at work forecasting, he enjoys spending time talking about movies, trying new places to eat, and hanging out with his family and friends.
